We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Noël Tenny. She’s an interior designer based in Charlotte, NC who specializes in luxury, secondary homes. Noël came to us in the spring wanting a full brand session for her interior design business. We decided to split the session into two parts. The first would be a mini session for headshots and a few lifestyle images, which we did in the spring. The second part of the session would take place once the secondary mountain home she was designing would be complete. And y’all, what they say is true: good things really do come to those who wait.
Her spring session gave her a small collection of bright and cheerful imagery, a nod to Noël’s warm, approachable personality. The more in depth session in the finished mountain home allowed us to fully capture all of the facets of Noël’s process, inspiration, and the story of her brand.

Tell us more about you, Noël
My eye for luxury design developed by a life of travel in cities and countries around the world. Twenty years of living in the Washington, D.C. suburbs helped shape my creative life. My love for art grew from the exhibits of The National Gallery of Art. My love for classical music and opera from attending performances at The Kennedy Center.
My travels around the world from Switzerland to Monaco have expanded my scope of architecture, color and appreciation of the arts. I use these experiences to inspire beauty and creativity in my clients’ homes.
What makes your business unique?
I’m not trendy or boring! I design for the client’s personal life and what they enjoy… sometimes helping them to get to know themselves a little better (which is an awesome feeling!). The way I design brings a synchrony of design and relaxed style to homes. I believe that well-designed homes are not meant to prove worth. Rather, they’re meant to be inviting spaces where life can be enjoyed.
What inspired you to start Noël Tenny Designs?
There were talented, great people in my network who truly didn’t know how to make their homes livable and enjoyable. I realized I could help them bring beauty into their homes, and by extension, add a sense of well-being to their lives.
What would you say has helped you grow in your business?
I think not taking myself too seriously. Design isn’t a contest of “who has the best style/home/updated look.” It is being comfortable in your day to day space and feeling excited about bringing other people into your home (aka- your heart).
